1 Year Photos With A Blanket, A Basket, and Pretty Pink Balloons

Ten days from now, at precisely 4:13 pm, Avery will officially be one year old! #holycrap

That means she has ten days left to start walking so we can watch her run around for her birthday. Pretty slim chance, huh? Really though, that’s okay with me, she moves around just fine on her hands and knees anyway.

We just had Avery’s one year pics taken at a small botanical gardens near where we live and the day was thankfully really calm and beautiful. Besides the annoying mosquitoes and Avery being a little very fussy, the photo session was pleasant and turned out great.

I’m cutting it short with words and just want to share my favorite photos here.  Enjoy!

All photos posted were taken professionally by Kristin Hafner of Kristen Hafner Photography. She was very helpful during the photo session and since she has kids of her own, was understanding of Avery’s fussiness and how to deal with it.

I love the black and white one with Going Mom and Avery! It’s now the background on my computer so I can see it every time I turn it on!

Did you have or do you plan on having 1 year photos taken of your baby?

Any themes you’re going for?

9 Month Photo Session: Is This What Cat Scratch Fever Looks Like?

Well, we’re back home and back to being parents again. *sigh*

Okay, we missed our precious little Avery, but we also enjoyed our time together. Thankfully, G-Ma had a great time with her and survived the weekend!

Thank you so much, mom, for watching Avery and keeping her so happy. I think she’s already missing you, so we can’t wait long until we see you again. I promise, we won’t leave you alone this time! 🙂

It’s always tough trying to get things back in line after coming back home, and we’re still try to get adjusted. I plan on sharing a recap of our 7th anniversary “staycation” along with a review on our stay at the Embassy Suites in Downtown Fort Worth sometime soon, but not yet.

Today, I have photos from our 9 month photo session with Avery to share. Not even an hour before taking these, Avery was “playing” with our cat, Lou, who “played” back by swiping at her forehead. The result was this lovely ~6 inch scratch.

It looks bad, but we were relieved when she never cried. Guess that’s part of being hard-headed, huh? But, I think the scratch affected her in other ways by making her even crazier than she already is.

The 9 month photo shoot was the most difficult yet, and cat scratch fever seems the only logical explanation. Check them out and let me know what you think.

And that’s all we got, just as she said. The session was eventful, as expected, and we can only imagine how the 10 month shoot will go.

Has your baby ever been scratched by the cat or dog of the house? Was it bad?

Wordless Wednesday: Our Beach Ball Baby

Oops, I’m already breaking the expectations set by the title by writing….sorry.

There are times when I simply don’t have a lot to say or post about on the blog, but I feel compelled to post something. This, being one of those times, seems like a great opportunity for a “Wordless Wednesday” post.

I’ve seen many other bloggers do this, so why not me too? Today, the theme is Avery with a beach ball. You don’t need expensive gizmos and gadgets to keep kids entertained, and Avery proves it with this beach ball.

As a matter of fact, the ball blew into our yard one day so I took it in, washed it, and gave it to Avery. Going Mom and I have followed her around the house as she plays a form of soccer with the ball and loves every minute. We’re thinking the ball will be a great tool for G-ma while she watches her this weekend when Going Mom and I are gone for two nights.

Yep, a little scary but exciting to leave our daughter for two whole days, but we know (i.e. hope) G-Ma and Avery will be fine. A couple should still enjoy their anniversary, right? 7 years married on the 17th of this month! More on that later, but now, lets get to that baby with the beach ball!

Yeah, that’s a lot of baby-ball pics, huh? I’d say it was a great front yard find and is here to stay!

Do you have any “free” things that your kids absolutely enjoy?
