Does Your Toddler Have a Super Bowl Pose?

They may not have a clue about football, but toddlers can still rock an awesome cheering pose for the Super Bowl. My wife and I have captured several action shots of Avery practicing her pose during the Big Game.

Some are blurry, but we wouldn’t dare delete them because….cute, duh. Don’t tell me you’re not like that with you kid or kids….c’mon, you can’t fool a fellow parent. Okay, you can, but not when it comes to saving more pictures than you will ever need. Imagine if they were the old-school Polaroids. Yikes!

Since we have quite the collection, I’m asking you to help us decide what Avery’s best pose is so she is prepared to cheer for…..don’t get mad, Seahawks fans, the Patriots! We’re Cowboy’s fans first, but for this game, we’re rooting for the Pats.

Please help Going Mom and me out and tell us one or two of your favorite Super Bowl poses. We will then commence with blowing up the winning picture of her pose and train Avery to duplicate that exact stance with each scoring drive by the Patriots. Maybe we won’t go that far, but makes for a good visual, huh?

Whatever Avery chooses to do, I expect to see plenty of Patriot touchdowns to make the Seahawks wilt (Get it? Birds….wilting? No? Damn.)! Hopefully, just like the Super Bowl ticket prices, the balls stay inflated. Sorry, had to. 🙂

And now for the poses…

  1. super bowl, baby, toddler, kids, parenting, touchdown, score
  2. super bowl, baby, toddler, kids, parenting, touchdown, score
  3. super bowl, baby, toddler, kids, parenting, touchdown, score
  4. super bowl, baby, toddler, kids, parenting, touchdown, score
  5. super bowl, baby, toddler, kids, parenting, touchdown, score
  6. super bowl, baby, toddler, kids, parenting, touchdown, score
  7. super bowl, baby, toddler, kids, parenting, touchdown, score
  8. super bowl, baby, toddler, kids, parenting, touchdown, score
  9. super bowl, baby, toddler, kids, parenting, touchdown, score
  10. super bowl, baby, toddler, kids, parenting, touchdown, score

These 10 are the best we have so far, and I’ll be damned if it’s not hard to pick just one. I mean, look at the happiness, not to mention skill in some, of these poses!

Oh, and I would ask for help choosing a good pose for when the Seahawks make a touchdown or do anything good, but we already have that one figured out….

Avery Flipping Off Camera

Yeah, seems appropriate, right? Hope you’re having a great weekend, and remember, try to stay somewhat healthy during the game and, well, always! Try dipping some baby carrots and apple slices in NuttZo, or eat right from the spoon. And if you must have something with bacon since that’s the trend lately, NuttZo + Bacon makes a delicious treat!

1 Year Photos With A Blanket, A Basket, and Pretty Pink Balloons

Ten days from now, at precisely 4:13 pm, Avery will officially be one year old! #holycrap

That means she has ten days left to start walking so we can watch her run around for her birthday. Pretty slim chance, huh? Really though, that’s okay with me, she moves around just fine on her hands and knees anyway.

We just had Avery’s one year pics taken at a small botanical gardens near where we live and the day was thankfully really calm and beautiful. Besides the annoying mosquitoes and Avery being a little very fussy, the photo session was pleasant and turned out great.

I’m cutting it short with words and just want to share my favorite photos here.  Enjoy!

All photos posted were taken professionally by Kristin Hafner of Kristen Hafner Photography. She was very helpful during the photo session and since she has kids of her own, was understanding of Avery’s fussiness and how to deal with it.

I love the black and white one with Going Mom and Avery! It’s now the background on my computer so I can see it every time I turn it on!

Did you have or do you plan on having 1 year photos taken of your baby?

Any themes you’re going for?

Putting My Stay-At-Home Dad Skills to the Test

Remember how I recently wrote about how my wife is leaving us? Well, she left hours before most people wake up to start their day and by the time you’re reading this, she should be in Boston.

Are you there, dear? Text me! 🙂 Oh, and pick up some Yuengling to bring back home please!!

For the next 3 days, Avery and I will be without Going Mom, but hopefully we’ll still have a great time. I’m excited and nervous about testing my true ability to go it alone, but I know many parents do wayyyy more than this on a daily basis. So what’s 3 days with just one baby?

Guess I’ll find out.

In the meantime, my 3-day plan is to focus on taking a lot of pictures and posting the good ones on here for my wife, Kelley, to enjoy. Of course, I hope that all viewers will enjoy the pics too.

If you’re a baby-loving person who enjoys pictures and not a lot of yapping, I’m positive you’ll like my next few posts. Since I plan on focusing more on my time with Avery, the posts will be less talk and more walk pictures.

Maybe just a few words about the pictures I am posting for the day, but nothing extreme. You’re welcome.

To kick things off, I’m posting several photos I’ve taken lately and simply love how they turned out. Kelley has already seen these, but they’re cute nonetheless, and don’t you try to say otherwise! Even that crazy baby selfie.

She was determined (hence the tongue) to reach the ground, but just couldn’t quite make it.

Everybody’s happier when their almost naked, right? Oh, and they have a blue ring and look like a boy when they’re really a girl. Oops, did I say that?

Just in case she misses me already, here I am with my makeshift cape before she gave me a haircut the other week. Note to self: hair is attracted to the static from a plastic trash bag.

When it’s been a rough day, there’s nothing like Mommy’s fluffy sock and an even fluffier bear to make things all better.

Hopefully, both my wife and Avery and I are having a great start to the week and will be able to FaceTime tonight.

Check back tomorrow for pictures of our first day alone.

To those of you laughing at my measly 3 days when you do this every day, any tips/advice you care to share?

Any stories from when you used go it alone or did at least once?
